This page is for co-ordinating the projects being done by BMS LUG.

At present two projects are being planned:

  1. GUI for writing assembly language
  2. GUI for ffmpeg

GUI for writing assembly language Edit

We propose to use nasm as back end and build a tool that will run the assembly code and show the output. This tool will also show the register entries and the values of the port(s). In short we are looking for something to that is similar to GNUSim8085, that is for all processor architectures.

GUI for FFmpeg Edit

Here we propose to build a GUI for FFmpeg to convert media into diffrent formats. FFmpeg is a collection of software libraries that can record, convert and stream digital audio and video in numerous formats. It includes libavcodec, an audio/video codec library used by several other projects, and libavformat, an audio/video container mux and demux library. The name of the project comes from the MPEG video standards group, together with "FF" for "fast forward". A decent media converter is lacking in GNU/Linux systems. You can always use FFmpeg command to do it, but it is difficult for beginners.

Nothing has been decided about the project as of now, but keep looking at this page as it updates.

Update:I found this project started by David Corrales. The project goals are similar to what we have here. Maybe we can collaborate to do this project.
