[edit] I am an Organiser

[edit] My Theories
- This is based on my practical experience of participating in the students' movement: Girls are more committed than boys. If that initial psychological barrier is broken, they are the ones who will stand by you till the end no matter what. The only challenge is that we should play the role of the catalyst(in the words of Praveen) to enable this feature ;-) Relevance of International Women's Day
- As an organiser you need to organise the people. The event organises itself. And the organisation of people is more of an Art than of a Science.
- You need to understand the socio-political-economic dynamics of every issue/event. There is no such thing as an 'apolitical' issue(If you can prove that there is an apolitical issue then I shall re-assess this premise).

[edit] Why free software or free culture movement?
To protect our intellectual self-reliance, to strengthen the local economy, to generate local employment, to make knowledge freely available to all who want to obtain knowledge, to promote healthy businesses as opposed to monopolies,...
[edit] Localisation to protect language or knowledge?
I have been having discussions of late on the why do we need localisation. Is it to protect language or to protect knowledge and I have been getting responses to the former. I have written a small algorithm to support the latter.
while(localisation){
if (localisation for language-protection only)
then (Localisation && language-protection == failure)
/* Language(a) is dynamic and constantly evolving along with technology(b). Technology(b) evolves according to the economy(c). Thus, language dependent on economy. Mathematically, a->b && b->c => a->c(Transitive function)--(1)*/
else if (localisation for knowledge-protection)
then (localisation && knowledge-protection && language-protection == success)
/* We assume that (1) holds good for all general cases(unless it can be proved otherwise). Special cases will be handled seperately. Knowledge-protection in a particular language ensures 'intellectual self-reliance' and this is key to 'economic self-reliance'. The reason why English thrives is because it is key to generating a huge economy. Thus, if you can generate a sustaining localised economy that language is also protected. This is an extention of (1). */
}
